Finding Joy in the Journey

As we close the final pages of another school year, it is a wonderful moment to pause and reflect on the journey we have shared. Term 4 often asks the most of us: finishing assessments, celebrating achievements, and preparing for what lies ahead. Yet even in the busyness, joy has been abundant: laughter in classrooms, curiosity sparked through learning, and friendships strengthened through the many individual and group challenges and triumphs of the year.

Each term adds a new chapter to our students’ stories of growth. This year, we have seen courage as they embraced new responsibilities and accepted new challenges; kindness in the ways they cared for others; and perseverance in giving their best. These qualities shape more than academic success; they form character and deepen faith.

School is, after all, about more than lessons and grades; it is about discovering who we are called to be. Throughout this year, we have witnessed faith in action: friendships deepened, teamwork strengthened, and countless small acts of grace reflecting God’s love among us.

As the holidays begin, may our students find time to rest, reconnect, and delight in the simple gifts of summer: sun-soaked days, shared meals, and moments with family and friends. These times refresh the spirit and remind us how deeply we are known and loved by God.

Looking ahead to 2026, we do so with hope. A new year brings new possibilities to learn, to build friendships, and to grow in wisdom and grace. Our prayer is that each student returns ready to step forward with confidence, curiosity, and hearts open to all that God has planned.

To our staff, students, and families: thank you for the faith, partnership, and joy you have brought to our community this year. We have so much to be grateful for, and even more to look forward to in 2026.

Secondary Update - HASS/History

Our Year 8 HASS class recently wrapped up an exciting unit on Landforms and Landscapes.

Throughout the term, students investigated the processes that shape our planet, from towering mountain ranges to caves, arches and stacks. They explored how landscapes influence human activity and why certain landforms hold cultural and environmental significance. 

The highlight of the unit was a creative project: writing and illustrating a children’s booklet about volcanoes. Students combined their research skills with storytelling to explain volcanic formation, eruptions, and safety tips in a way that younger readers could understand. The booklets were colourful, engaging, and packed with fun facts. 

This activity not only reinforced geographical concepts but also encouraged creativity and communication skills. It was fantastic to see students take ownership of their learning and present complex ideas in such an accessible format.
