At Emmanuel, we are committed to nurturing our students with an intentional approach to their growth.

Just like any good habit, consistency is key—and as we lean on God, we strive to develop habits that last a lifetime.

Proverbs 22:6 reminds us,

‘Train up a child in the way they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it.’

This wisdom challenges us to consider the habits we are forming—ones that care for the body, mind, and soul, and positively influence our school community.

This year, we continue to encourage every student to make a positive impact at Emmanuel through their presence (Attendance), presentation (Uniform), and performance (Positive Behaviour for Learning). Every choice matters, and each positive action contributes to a thriving school environment!

As parents, we value your partnership in your child’s learning journey. Your role in encouraging them to be active learners—taking responsibility for their learning and development—makes a tremendous difference. Together, we can guide them to build strong habits that support their personal and academic growth.

We are also excited to welcome Mr Stephen Woods, our new Chaplain, who joins Mrs Melanie Cvetanovic (Student Agency Support Coordinator) as part of our pastoral team. Together, we look forward to launching a range of exciting initiatives, including:

🌟 Student Council – Active and purposeful student leadership in both Primary and Secondary Schools.
💪 ACER Coping Strategies – Supporting resilience-building in our Secondary School students.
🏆 Cultural Initiatives – Whole school devotional, focusing on our School theme for 2025: Arise and Shine
🎨 Weekly Inquiry and Lunchtime Activities – Creating welcoming and engaging spaces for both Primary and Secondary students.

Secondary Update - Year 7

Year 7 – A Bright Beginning

It has been a privilege to walk alongside our Year 7 students as they begin their Secondary School journey at Emmanuel Christian School. The start of the year has brought many new challenges—navigating timetables, moving between classrooms, managing resources for each lesson, and developing new friendships. These are big adjustments, and I have already seen steady progress as students begin to settle into the routines and expectations of Secondary School life.

It has been encouraging to see so many students striving to embody our school values of courage, integrity, and respect in their words and actions. While there have been moments of learning along the way, each challenge has been met with a willingness to grow, improve, and support one another, continually growing in maturity. 

As a school community, our hope is that these students will continue to build each other up and let their light shine brightly, and that the community will gather around these students and also encourage them to do so—just as Matthew 5:16 encourages us—to be a light for others to follow.

Primary Update - Year 1

Arise and Shine in Year 1!

As our Year 1 students settle into the school year, we are embracing the call to

‘Arise, shine, for your light has come.’
– Isaiah 60:1

Each day brings new opportunities to grow in knowledge, faith, and friendships.

This term, we have been exploring the seasons, observing how God’s creation changes throughout the year. In literacy, we are developing strong reading and spelling skills with Little Learners Love Literacy, while also practicing our handwriting to build confidence and fluency. Our wonderful trips to the Library have been a highlight because we love reading and discovering new books!

In HASS, we have been learning about our families and creating beautiful Family Trees to explore our history and connections. Through this, we are developing an understanding of where we come from and the special people in our lives.

In Maths, we have been working hard on counting, reading, and writing big numbers—all the way to 120! Using Maths Seeds and hands-on activities, we are building number confidence and problem-solving skills in fun and interactive ways.

Most importantly, we have been focusing on Operation Kindness—learning how to be a wonderful friend by showing kindness, respect, and care for others in everything we do.

Hands-on learning has been a key focus, with structured play fostering creativity and collaboration. Of course, plenty of time in the Gagaball pit has ensured our days are filled with joy and active play!

With God’s guidance, we are excited for a year of learning, growth, and shining brightly together.
