From The Principal

David said to the Philistine (Goliath), “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” 1 Samuel 17:45

The story of David and Goliath is commonly taught as a children’s story. I have been sharing this powerful story with staff in our devotions. It is much more than just a children’s story. David knew he was making a stand in the name of God – we would say “in Jesus Name”. Emmanuel Christian School stands to serve our great God in Jesus name.

What a privilege!

Scott Winkler - Principal

RoboCup Junior Robotics

On Saturday - the 27th July, 10 dedicated students participated in the Hobart regional RoboCup Jnr finals held at Rose Bay High School.

This group of students gave up three days of their holidays to prepare for the event.

Well done to Oliver Nillsen and Eli Eduljee who placed 4th in the Secondary division.

Micah Andrews and Elijah Styles also placed 4th in the Primary division.

A special congratulations to Sammy Paul and Maxwell Roberts who finished 2nd in the Primary division.  A great effort boys.

Clarence Lions Club Tree Planting

Our 1/2 class, supported by their 3/4 class friends, did a mass planting of native bushes and shrubs at the front of the school. The Lions Club of Clarence, lead by Peter Arnott, organised with us to plant over forty plants. Peter did a lot of groundwork and was supported by two other Lion Club members on the day.

Students worked in small groups to plant, water and protect the small potted plants. Teamwork was excellent, and students were respectful and appreciative of the effort that went into the activity by Peter and the Lions Club.

On behalf of our school community I would like to thank Peter, Clarence Lions Club and Clarence City Council, who provided the plants. What a great opportunity for the community and our students to work together.
