As we draw the curtain on Term 3, I am filled with immense gratitude and joy in what we've accomplished together.The theme for this term, "Manifesting the Word in Fruitfulness," has not just been words on a banner, but a lived experience for all of us. Firstly, to our devoted parents – your unwavering support, trust, and partnership have been the backbone of our successes. You've once again proven that a community thrives when parents and school staff come together with a common goal. Our invaluable volunteering parents and our Community Engagement Committee, you've generously donated your time and energy, helping us in countless ways. From assisting in classrooms, organizing events, to ensuring our facilities are in top shape, you've truly manifested the essence of our Term's theme. As we forge into Term 4, I continue to call on you to make time investments in the education of our precious children. Opportunities still exist for you to make meaningful contribution to our school’s improvement. Our hardworking teachers, your passion and commitment to moulding our students into confident, knowledgeable, and compassionate individuals are evident. Every day, you've embodied the spirit of fruitfulness, ensuring our students not only achieve academically, but also grow as well-rounded individuals. And to our brilliant students – your enthusiasm for learning, your dedication to your studies, and your ability to adapt, especially in these trying times, fills me with hope for the future. You've taken the theme to heart and showcased it in your academic achievements, social interactions, and personal growth. We are truly blessed to have a dedicated Central Office team behind us, ensuring our school's vision is consistently achieved. In summary, this Term has been a testament to what we can achieve when we come together as a community, each of us playing our part, and manifesting the word in fruitful actions. As we look forward to the final term of the year, let us carry forward this spirit of collaboration and achievement. Thank you all for making Term 3 a resounding success. Breakfast Club VolunteersWe are putting a call out to all Parents/Guardians who may be willing and available to come and serve our students in the mornings during Breakfast Club. Breakfast Club runs on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, from 8.15am - 9.00am. If you feel this is something you would be willing to do, please contact the office for more details!

In Term 3, Year 2 spent time learning about information text types. We wrote our own information booklets, brochures, posters and finished the term compiling a whole class book. The book was titled ‘Caring for Pets’. Each student was given an animal that could be a pet and asked to research and present a page of information to teach other people how to care for that pet. We also enjoyed exploring water colours in Art. We watched some tutorials on how to blend colours and had a go at painting our own tulips. We learnt that God cares so much for the flowers, but he cares for us even more! Sarah Pascal — Year 2 Teacher

In Year 1 this term, we have been looking at Australian animals and the environments where they live. The students created models of echidnas with salt dough and then wrote a sentence in their HASS books about something they had learned. It was great to see the information they had retained. As part of the HASS unit on caring for Natural Places, we are looking at some of the wildlife that live in these places and how to care for these animals and natural places they live in. The students have been really engaged in this topic and have a growing respect for animals and their homes. Candace Freeman - Year 1 Teacher

Thursday was a special day at Emmanuel, as our Primary students put on an amazing production! Thank you to all the students for their diligence and resilience as they worked together throughout this term. Thank you, also, to our amazing staff who helped make sure our production was the best it could be. You spent a great deal of time with our students, helping them reimagine life's possibilities in the arts. We had a wonderful time sharing our production with families and students from Northern Christian School and Calvin Christian School. Click here to see more photos from the production!

It's that time again, and if you are new to the school, welcome to our Remembrance Day tradition. If you haven't done so already, can you please advise me or Admin about your family members who have served or are serving in Defence Forces around the world? NAME: RELATION: student name and relationship (e.g. great, great, great-uncle) RANK: Captain, Private, Able Seaman etc., PERIOD OF SERVICE: Peace time; Korea, World War 1 etc. WHICH FORCE: SOE, Resistance, Army, Navy, Airforce, etc. At our service on Friday 10 November 2023, an Honour Roll will be read out, and students will come down when the name of their relative(s) is spoken, where they will place a poppy for those who have died (during or since service) and a sprig of rosemary if the person is still living. All serving/served family members of our students deserve to be honoured at this special time, from all times and nations caught up in conflict or preserving the peace. Praise be to God for providing us with the most glorious weather for our Footy Colours Day. It was a wonderful, fun afternoon for students and staff alike. Office ReminderA reminder for all Parents and Carers, if you would like to take your child/children home early after an event, please notify the class teacher, as well as signing out at the office. Thank you for your assistance in this! Uniform ShopOpen hours are Thursday afternoon, 2.30pm - 3.30pm. Uniform is also available for purchase via the Qkr App and with EFTPOS in the office. From the OfficeFor absentees please fill-out our Absentee Form OR contact us before 9.30am. An SMS will be sent to parents for unexplained absences. Please ensure late students (after 8.45am Secondary, after 9.00am Primary) are signed in at the office. If students are leaving early they are required to have a note from their parents, and must sign out at the office. A doctor’s certificate is required for more than two days’ absence. Please notify the office before 2.45pm for any messages your children need before leaving school.
