From the Principal

As we head towards the end of the first term, I would like to thank all families for your continued support and encouragement of Emmanuel this year. I am thrilled by the collaboration and communication between school and home, and I know that your partnership with us goes a long way in ensuring we can provide the best possible education for your child. There is so much joy and positivity at school each day, and this inspires me to continue working hard to implement the vision for Emmanuel Christian School.

I truly value the relationships we have with our families and know that these continue to grow stronger through collaboration.

As teachers prepare Interim Reports, students are continuing to work hard to achieve their classroom goals as we head into a busy reporting and assessment period. It is not all business, however, as we have some fun and exciting activities planned over the final two weeks of term. We enjoyed our Whole School Cross Country yesterday, and our Colour Run is scheduled for Friday 17 April. This will be a wonderful way to celebrate a successful term and reward students for their efforts.

I would again like to thank you for an amazing term, marked by love, care, compassion, and a shared focus on God’s Word.

Secondary Update

Music has had a strong start for our Secondary students this year. Our Praise and Worship students have already blessed the School by leading songs in assembly, which has set a meaningful tone for our gatherings.

The Year 9 and 10 students are currently preparing for their first of many lunchtime concerts, while our Year 7 students have begun with an introduction to rock instruments and will soon choose one to focus on next term.

Across all year levels, students are growing in confidence as they share their gifts, while also developing the resilience to practice, take risks, and learn from mistakes. This is all part of the journey of learning music.

We look forward to seeing how our music classes continue to bless the school community throughout the year.

Primary Update - Year 1

Seasons have been the focus of learning in Year 1 this term, with students exploring how the world around us changes throughout the year. Our investigations in Science sparked curiosity about how seasonal changes affect people, animals, and the environment.

In Science, students learned about the four seasons—Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring—and discovered that some parts of Australia experience just two: the Dry Season and the Wet Season. They explored the physical changes that occur during each season and discussed how living things adapt as the year progresses.

Students then brought their scientific learning into their Art lessons. Using their knowledge of seasonal changes, they created an installation of artworks that represent different landscapes across the seasons. Through blending coloured chalk and pastels to create glowing sunsets, and manipulating card to craft vibrant spring scenes inspired by The Hungry Caterpillar, students visually represented the changes they have been studying, while developing their creativity and fine motor skills.
